I’ve been to quite a few zoos in my time. I don’t think I’ve ever been lucky enough to find a raccoon at one. I always figured they just weren’t considered exotic enough for display. Well, it turns out not all zoos are so prudish, as the CuriOdyssey wildlife center in California has a curmudgeon of an elderly critter in its raccoon habitat named Merlin. On the good side, he’s about to have company in the form of two chipper females moving into his bachelor pad. I don’t know about raccoons, but in humans that’s always enough to put a spring in a man’s step even if he does have arthritis.
