RACCOONS IN THE NEWS: The Occupation of New York

Ed Helms & Raccoon
Ed Helms walking his pet raccoon in New York. Wait, he has a pet raccoon?

The encroaching raccoon army seems to have staked a claim on the Marble Hill subway station in New York City (where the worst picante sauce comes from.)  The furry little invaders have taken to swarming the stop and intimidating riders by being near them in packs (although the correct term for a group of raccoons is apparently a nursery, which sounds significantly cuter).  One particularly large and imposing raccoon has even become affectionately known by locals as “Ted.”  Not sure why. At least the locals were original enough not to go with “Rocky” or “Bandit.”  I’m so tired of those names.
